Mozilla has unveiled it has an aggressive schedule for upcoming releases for Firefox OS. According to the company’s plans, the operating system will get new features every three months and security updates every six weeks.
The team at Mozilla takes pride in the courageous schedule it set for itself. “As far as I know, that’s the most aggressive mobile OS release strategy out there,” says Alex Keybl, manager or release management.
However, the company admits this plan may still require some tweaking, but it still plans to bring the rapid release process to Firefox OS.
The company has released new versions for Firefox for desktop and for Android every six weeks so far, with few misses.
Mozilla believes security updates should come at the announced frequency, although feature updates should obviously be more spread out.
