Windows 8 is often blamed for the poor sales recorded by the PC industry, but it appears that some manufacturers have found a way to deal with this problem.
A report by Digitimes informs that several PC makers, including Lenovo, have decided to ship notebooks with no Windows version installed, as Windows 8 increased the final price of the products.
As a result, some notebook models are now up to $67 (?51) cheaper, as compared to the versions equipped with Windows 8, in an attempt to attract more buyers and support the recovery of the collapsing PC industry.
Microsoft is already offering major Windows 8 discounts to PC manufacturers as well, as the Redmond-based technology giant is trying to bring cheaper devices to the market and thus prepare the road for the upcoming Windows Blue upgrade expected to see daylight in August.
