Crytek's Crysis 3 Gets Official for 2013

Crysis 3 logoOf all the game franchises that EA has under its belt, Crysis is often a fan favorite. Fans of the franchise have been waiting to hear official details on the next installment called Crysis 3 and the details were revealed today. EA promises unparalleled visuals and a dynamic shooter game play that we all know and love from the franchise going back to the first installment.

The player will play as Prophet as he returns to New York to discover that the city is now encased in a Nanodome created by Cell Corporation. This Nanodome has seven different environments that are known as the Seven Wonders including an urban rain forest and more.

“Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love,” said Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek. “Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded game play experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game.”

The game is set in 2047 as Prophet sets off on a revenge mission after he discovers the truth behind the motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes. The game will get new weapons such as a composite bow, an improved Nanosuit, and new alien technology.

Fans of the game can pre-order the Crysis 3 Hunter Edition of the game to get early access to the signature bow and special attachments along with the special Hunter Nanosuit module giving additional power and functionality. Those that pre-order will also get a bonus XP boost up to level five in multiplayer. The pre-order version is on Origin.com right now for $59.95.
