Leak shows Nokia concept UI for Windows Phone

Nokia logoSeveral screenshot renderings that are said to have been created by a former Nokia designer suggest the company may have been considering its own custom Windows Phone interface. The concept utilizes free-form bubbles rather than Microsoft's standard Metro-style tiles, with an overall theme that appears to be geared for female users.

Pocketnow notes that the designer had worked as a senior member of Nokia's research and development team, however she transitioned to work on Accenture projects last summer.

It remains unclear if the renderings actually represent a concept that Nokia was considering, as the company has publicly voiced faith in the stock interface. The company's partnership agreement with Microsoft is said to provide flexibility for the handset maker to customize the UI and diverge from the consistent experience that is demanded of other Windows Phone makers.

Microsoft has reportedly denied knowledge of the designs, while Nokia claims the renderings are "purely the designer's own personal design explorations" and never involved in official projects.
