ATI, now being as AMD part, already for few years follows the tradition when releasing video cards drivers. It supposes one release per month. From one side such periodicity does not allow to bring in cardinal changes within the frame of a few updates, but innovations and corrections of errors are made not immediately, but gradually. Changes are in next Catalyst can touch both the correction of errors, addition new useful functions and increase in performance in certain games and tests.
The new version of AMD Catalyst 12.1 driver was presented the other day. List of its changes for Windows looks like the following:
- Enables support for AMD HD3D technology in conjunction with AMD CrossFireX configurations
- Delivers a new Stereo 3D mode over HDMI 1.4a connections - 1080p at 30Hz is now enabled on supported displays
- AMD Catalyst 12.1 driver enables users to create per application profiles to individually control 3D and CrossFireX settings for Direct3D applications
- AMD Catalyst 12.1 driver includes user interface enhancements to simply adjustment of video color and video quality controls
