Kicking off the iPhone press event with a few updates on current products, Apple CEO Tim Cook has revealed that the Mac user base has reached 58 million worldwide and is on track to reach 60 million by the end of this year.
According to Cook, the Mac platform grew by 23% in the last 12 months, while the PC only saw a modest increase of 4%. And since hardware goes great with software, Apple's CEO also mentioned that the latest Mac OS release, Mac OS X Lion, has been downloaded over 6 million times, 80% more than its predecessor, Snow Leopard.
Those are some nice numbers from Apple, but let's get to the iPhone part already.
