Telegram update introduces the ability to add polls

Telegram logoHave you ever tried to organize a lunch or dinner or a birthday party for a friend or family member within the context of a group chat? It can get pretty messy as everyone is chiming in with their own opinions, or going off topic. However if you’re a Telegram user, then you might want to check out the latest update to the app.

Telegram has announced that in the latest update to its app, they will be adding the ability for users to create polls within chats, as you can see in the screenshot to the right. It is a pretty straightforward feature where you can create the question, provide some answers for other members of the chat to choose from, and you’re good to go.

According to Telegram, it seems that these polls can actually be forwarded which means that if you wanted to get an opinion on something, you can create one poll and forward it to many users/chats at once. Also it seems that these polls are anonymous so no one can see who voted for what, which is useful if you’re worried about whether or not your votes in a poll can be seen.

In addition to polls, Telegram’s update also brings about some improvements on iOS devices, along with the usual host of bug fixes. The Telegram update should be live so make sure to get the latest version of the app if you’d like to check out the new poll feature.
