Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 reportedly coming out for developers on October 8th

Windows Phone logoUpdate: was contacted by a Microsoft spokesperson to confirm that the information is not true. Perhaps it is indeed true but not meant for public knowledge just yet. Who really knows. You can read on for the original story.

Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 is said to be in works from some time now, expected to hit the devices by the end of the year. A new rumor suggests Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 will roll out for developers from October 8th. What's more surprising is that the new update will reportedly come with Cortana for Polish language when it rolls out for the developers next month.

Sylwester Sałek from posted some screenshots of Cortana possibly in Polish language, with a caption, "Polish Windows Phone users! Get ready for Polish Cortana! Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2/GDR2 (PfD) is coming- 08.10.2014." It will possibly be in Alpha stage, not for the regular public for now, but you can install the developer preview on your device even if you don't know anything about coding or developing apps.

Microsoft is working to bring Cortana to several other countries with the Update 2 -- it's already available in the US, China, and UK as a Beta. Plus, if the rumor is legit, we can expect the personal assistant to reach more countries in the coming weeks, not only Poland.

It's not just Cortana, Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 is said to come with several new features and enhancements, including an organized Settings app, support for better hardware, and more.

Last but not the least, a proverbial grain of salt is required as there's no word from official channels about the availability of the Update 2 as of now. We'll update you as soon as we get any other information. In the meantime, take a look at the screenshots posted on Twitter below. Real or fake? You decide.
