iPhone 4 gets new lease on Life with iOS 7.1

Apple iPhone 4iThe iPhone 4 was released back in 2010, which means that the handset is about four years old now. While the phone does support iOS 7, it’s probably in the best interest of iPhone 4 users to install the update simply because the phone is having a really hard time handling the software, or at least that’s what the reports claim.

In fact The New York Times claims that this is “planned obsolescence” which basically means that Apple is making life difficult for iPhone 4 users so that they’d ditch their phone for something newer, like the iPhone 5s perhaps. However the good news is that thanks to iOS 7.1, using the iPhone 4 is actually a lot better now.

iPhone 4 gets new lease on Life with iOS 7.1

iOS 7.1 was just released yesterday and it brought about some changes to the operating system, such as newer graphics, different animations, and so on. According to Ars Technica, they claim that thanks to the new animations, it has made the iPhone 4 running iOS 7 a lot speedier to use.

According to the report, “iOS 7.1 solves the problem for people who don’t tweak their devices’ settings or for people who like the way the animations look but not how they feel. Animation durations have been shortened noticeably throughout iOS 7.1, and toggling “reduce motion” is now purely cosmetic.”

We’re not sure how many of you guys out there are still using the iPhone 4, but if you are and you were initially hesitant on upgrading to iOS 7, perhaps iOS 7.1 might be worth your consideration. We cannot make any promises, however, so it’s really up to you to decide if the improvements made in iOS 7.1 are worth upgrading to.
