Nokia glass image leak suggests plans for phablet with 6-inch screen

Nokia logoNokia could be working on a large-screen smartphone, if a leaked photograph is real. An image showing the front glass for a phone appeared on the Sina Weibo Chinese microblogging service, suggesting that it is still looking at making a smartphone with a screen measuring six inches in size, and fuels an earlier rumor that it would be building a phablet style of device.

The image spotted by Phone Arena from the ICTech Weibo account gives little clues as to what the device will be, aside from being a smartphone with a large screen. There is space on the glass that appears to allow for a front-facing camera, and it is noted that the bezel on the sides are significantly slim, but other than that, there is little else to go on in the image.

The earlier rumor suggested it would be a Windows Phone device, making it one of the Lumia range, and would be the equivalent of the Samsung Galaxy Note but with a higher specification.
