Google's Nexus 11 will be an octa-core tablet

Google logoWhat comes after Google's Nexus 7 and 10 tablets? The Nexus 11, of course, which is rumored to feature an 11” Super PLS TFT display, along with an Octa-Core A15 / A7 (Samsung Exynos 5410) SoC, front/back cameras and a 64 GB Micro SD.

Samsung's "5 Octa" chip is based on ARM's big.LITTLE architecture. As the name suggests, the company is describing the SoC as an 8-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor, which pairs four high-power CPU cores with four lower-power cores..

Essentially, the two sets of cores act as load balancers, allowing the chip to seamlessly switch between higher performance requirements and low-power tasks, thereby significantly extending battery life.

According to SamsungMobile, the industry heavyweight is also prepping the Galaxy Tab DUOS 7.0 which features a 7.0” PLS LCD 600 x 1024 display, front/back cameras, a dual-core SoC, dual SIM and a 32 GB Micro SD.

Additional tablets reportedly under production include the Galaxy Tab 8.0 powered by a quad-core A9 (Exynos 4412) with an 8.0” AMOLED 1080p display, and the Galaxy Tab 11 which is fitted with an 11” Super PLS TFT display, a dual-core A15 SoC (Exynos 5250) and a 64GB Micro SD.
