Nokia to add Galaxy Note competitor to range

Nokia logoNokia is planning to make a phablet in order to compete with other similar devices and to suppliment a relatively slow growth in Lumia sales, according to a report. The new device is suggested to be similar in size to the Samsung Galaxy Note, but with a higher specification, and will also run Windows Phone as its operating system.

Although sources of the Financial Times state that the smartphone would be more powerful than the Galaxy Note, no specifications were actually revealed, but it would be launched sometime later this year.

The same report mentions that the first phone with Pureview imaging technology would be launched in July, one with a 40-megapixel camera and flash. This could be the Nokia EOS, something that is said to have a Snapdragon 800 processor, 200mAh battery, and a 720p AMOLED display.

A "lighter and more advanced version" of the Lumia 920 is also planned, as well as a cheaper version in the Fall.
