Computer manufacturer Gigabyte has previewed a mini-PC design. The new Brix computer, in a form factor similar to the Mac mini or the Intel NUC has what the company calls "the same power as a tower PC" and is expected for wide release later this summer with a UK release in the next month.
A placard next to the device at a Gigabyte event claimed the new device could run an Intel Celeron 1007U, Core i3 3227U, Core i5 3337U, or a Core i7 3537U processor. Ports available on the unit include a Mini Display Port, HDMI out, and two USB 3.0 ports with one front and one back. Networking is by either an internal Wi-Fi card, or an Ethernet port of unannounced speed.
No pricing on the new computer has been announced.
