South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is expected to launch a third smartphone in the popular Galaxy Note series in late 2013, and some new info on what the device might sport has emerged.
According to a recent article on SamMobile, chances are that the device would feature an LCD screen when released, and that Samsung is working with Sharp on this.
While the upcoming Galaxy S IV smartphone was rumored to arrive on shelves with a PHOLED screen, which would make it more battery-efficient than previous handsets in the Galaxy S lineup, the vendor will change its focus to LCD screens with the upcoming Galaxy Note III.
Apparently, this was the main reason for which it decided to invest in Sharp.
Samsung is expected to continue using OLED screens in larger devices, as well as in high-end smartphones, it seems.
