Motorola to announce an Intel-powered smartphone on Sept 18

Motorola logoIt appears that September will be a busy month for Motorola. The company is having a joint event with Verizon on September 5, dedicated to the DROID RAZR HD, but they'll also have something for their European fans.

We just got an invitation for another Motorola event, which will be held in UK and promises to take us to the edge. Seeing that the Intel logo is also present on the invitation, we are probably looking at an Intel-powered smartphone by Motorola.

Motorola to announce an Intel-powered smartphone

The news for an upcoming Intel-packing Motorola smartphone broke loose back in February. Unfortunately we heard nothing about the device since then.

It seems the phone is still in the works and is about to go official on September 18. Motorola has sent invitations for a press conference at Victoria House in London. We'll try to make it there and cover it for you.

If the old rumors are true, we are about to see smartphone based on the Intel’s Medfield mobile chipset, based on a x86 CPU. It's also going to rock an HD display and run on Android 4.0 or 4.1. Let's hope the instant-on feature will be present. Here you can find everything the February rumor had to say.

September 18 is not that far so we won’t have to wait long to see what’s coming next from Motorola.
