AMD Plans Radeon HD 7930 Graphics Card

AMD logoWhen it revealed the time of arrival for AMD's Radeon HD 7990 (or HD 7970 X2), 3DCenter.org also provided info on two other cards.

One of them, the HD 7970 GHz Edition, we have already seen in action, in a manner of speaking.

That leaves us with the Radeon HD 7930, based on the “Tahiti LE” graphics processor. It will probably be a cutdown Tahiti GPU.

The Sunnyvale, California-based company will position the item between the HD 7870 and HD 7950, price-wise (so that would mean $350-$370 / 340-360 Euro). The ETA is the third quarter of 2012.

We don't know what performance we can expect, but it should be more than decent, even if HD 7930 does use Tahiti chips that did not quite make it out of TSMC's 28nm facilities in full health. We'll post more information as we come upon it.
