The focus of Sony's E3 2011 keynote so far is 3D, and in an attempt to make the technology more viable the company has revealed a brand new PlayStation-branded 24" display. The display will come bundled with Resistance 3, an HDMI cable, and glasses for $499.
Instead of split-screen multiplayer, the display will actually show different images to each player wearing a pair of the glasses. Additional sets of glasses will run users $69.
As far as 3D gaming, Sony also announced two new 3D collections. The God of War Origins collection bundles together the two portable entries in the series, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus, and remasters them as 3D titles for the PS3. The recently delayed Team Ico collection, which features PS3 classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, will also be getting the 3D treatment.
Both collections will be available this September.
