Sony is reportedly looking for mobile developers with Android skills and experience with online gaming. The Senior Server Engineer job posting, listed on Sony's PlayStation UK site, has reignited speculation surrounding a rumored PSP phone based on Android.
Previous reports suggest Sony Ericsson may be working on a touchscreen slider with a 3.7- to 4.1-inch display and gamepads similar to the PSP Go. Sources claim the device will pack a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU powering Android 3.0.
The handset is rumored to be launched alongside special editions of popular games such as God of War, Little Big Planet and Modern Warfare. Google is also said to be ready for the new apps, which may be featured in a dedicated section of the Android Market.
Sony has yet to confirm the Android PSP project, however the leaked information places the launch time-frame as early as October.
