Nokia's central phone news at Mobile World Congress may be a more direct sequel to the N97, according to a slip on Thursday. A claimed accurate render of what's called the N98 has surfaced at Be Geek and would be mostly a design upgrade. It would still have a tilting slider screen and 32GB of internal storage like the N97, but it would have a much larger 4-inch touchscreen (up from 3.5) and might come in more exotic colors, like green.
The apparent scoop comes alongside a rumor of an N8 with Symbian^3 that may be the same device. If so, it would have multi-touch, 720p capture and a 12-megapixel camera.
The N98/N8 would sell for the equivalent of 450 euros ($619) before contract if real, but how soon it would ship isn't known. Nokia has regularly released a new N90 series flagship at Mobile World Congress in recent years but often doesn't ship it until months later.
