An unconfirmed rumor maintains Intel will soon release two new updated Pine Trail Intel Atom chips, the Atom N475 and N455. The former has a 1.83GHz clock speed while the latter retains the common 1.6GHz rating, and both get DDR3 RAM support, which is a first for the Atom range.
Otherwise, the chips keep the TDP ratings of those they are based on, with the N455's 5.5W TDP and the N475's 6.5W. A range of netbooks with the new chips is expected near the end of the year, as the chips are scheduled to begin shipping in the fall.
