Qualcomm 712 brings faster CPU Cores, quick Charge 4+

Qualcomm logoQualcomm has announced the successor to the Snapdragon 710 processor – the Snapdragon 712 mobile platform that comes with gaming and AI capabilities.

The 10nm processor has a multicore Qualcomm AI Engine comprising the Qualcomm Kryo 360 CPU which now runs at 2.3 GHz compared to 2.2 GHz. But it still retains the Qualcomm Adreno 616 GPU, and the Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP along with other specs.

Qualcomm claims that the 712 is 10% faster than the Snapdragon 710 chipset. For enhanced gaming, the chip supports the Qualcomm Aqstic audio tech for better sound quality.

The Qualcomm AI Engine in Snapdragon 712 will bring smart and fast AI capabilities in smartphones. Additionally, it comes with the support for Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem, 4×4 MIMO and License-Assisted Access (LAA) for better connectivity for the smartphones’ apps.

On the camera front, the processor comes with the Qualcomm Spectra 250 camera ISP for improved camera performance and better picture as well as video quality.

Additionally, the chipset optimizes the battery and supports the company’s Quick Charge 4+ technology which is claimed to charge the smartphone from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes.

In addition to enhanced gaming features, the Snapdragon 712 is packed with the premium features mobile users crave.
