It was recently reported that some Galaxy Note 8 users have experienced an unusual issue. They are unable to revive their device after the battery runs out. The handset just won’t turn on no matter how long it’s charged for. It wasn’t immediately clear what’s causing the issue. Most of the reports came from users in the United States so it’s likely that the variant that runs on the Snapdragon chip is the only one that’s affected. Samsung has confirmed that it has received some reports of Galaxy Note 8 units dying without any reason.
Samsung hasn’t said as yet if this is due to a hardware problem or due to an issue with the software. Some users report seeing the charging circle on the display when the device is plugged in but despite that, it doesn’t turn on.
No one has found a possible fix for this as yet, not even Samsung. The company has merely acknowledged that it has received reports about some Galaxy Note 8 units dying for no apparent reason.
“We only received a very small number of customer inquiries that could be linked to charge management,” Samsung said in a statement, adding that it can’t comment on the matter further until it has more information about the affected devices.
Samsung has been offering replacements to affected users so if you’ve experienced this, claiming a replacement unit under the warranty will be better than waiting on a fix.
