Asus unveils the ZenFone 4

ASUS logoASUS Chairman Jonney Shih today unveiled the ZenFone 4 smartphones - ZenFone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro and ZenFone 4 Selfie - during the We Love Photo press event in Taipei.

The smartphones announced on stage, including ZenFone 4 Max Pro which is designed to be an all-day photography companion and showcased in the demo area, will be launched first in Asia and then extended to other markets worldwide.

The ZenFone 4 Series currently includes two models: ZenFone 4 Pro and ZenFone 4.

ZenFone 4 Pro features a dual-camera system. Its main camera is equipped with the Sony IMX362 image sensor with a large 1/2.55-inch size, 1.4µm pixels and a wide, f/1.7-aperture lens. The dual-camera system on ZenFone 4 Pro also has a 16MP camera with a 2X optical zoom and a 10X total zoom that brings distant subjects closer, putting them in sharp focus while softening background details. Photo shooting is further enhanced by the ASUS SuperPixel Engine that increases captured light by up to 8X, and optical image stabilization (OIS) that enables blur-free handheld exposures of up to 1/4 seconds.

ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro

ZenFone 4 Pro is built on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, while the Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU is engineered to provide performance for high-end mobile gaming. ZenFone 4 Pro also delivers ultrafast network connectivity with the latest LTE Advanced features for cellular download speeds.

ZenFone 4 is a 5.5-inch Android smartphone equipped with a dual-camera system. The main camera has the flagship Sony IMX362 image sensor and a large, f/1.8 aperture lens, as well as a 120° wide-angle lens.

ZenFone 4 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 and 630 Mobile Platform, and a high-capacity 3300mAh lithium polymer battery and ASUS BoostMaster fast-charge technology keep ZenFone 4 going longer.

ZenFone 4 Selfie Series smartphones feature dual front-facing cameras and powerful image-processing software that enables users to easily capture selfies and super wide-angle wefies with their friends in any scenario. The all-new SelfieMaster app lets users apply real-time beautification effects to selfies, videos, and live-streams, and the camera's Beauty mode enables adjustments such as skin softening, eye enhancement and facial-feature balancing with just a few taps.

ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie

ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro - the flagship model of the ZenFone 4 Selfie series - has possibly the world's most advanced selfie camera, with a Sony IMX362 dual-pixel image sensor that has twice the number of light-capturing photodiodes as conventional sensors of the same resolution, and the ASUS SuperPixel Engine that enables users to capture 2X brighter low-light selfies and detailed 4K UHD selfie video. 24MP DuoPixel camera technology uses the information captured by the sensor to intelligently create one 24MP photo. ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro also comes with a 120° super wide-angle wefie camera.

ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is powered by a 64-bit, 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform with 4GB RAM and desktop-grade Adreno 506 GPU. It is available in three beautiful colors: Rouge Red, Sunlight Gold and Deepsea Black.

ZenFone 4 Selfie features dual, front-facing cameras, including a high-resolution, 20MP main selfie camera and a 120° super wide-angle wefie camera. A Softlight LED flash delivers the perfect amount of fill light in low-light conditions, softening skin texture and bringing out true skin tones to make selfies look their best. Users have additional photo-enhancement effects with the ASUS-exclusive SelfieMaster app.

In addition to its dual selfie cameras, ZenFone 4 Selfie features a rear, high-resolution 16MP camera with phase-detection autofocus. Powered by the Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform, ZenFone 4 Selfie comes with a triple-slot tray that accommodates two SIM cards for dual data connections with speeds of up to 150Mbps and an additional MicroSD slot to expand storage by up to 2TB. Its design lets users install both SIMs and a MicroSD card in one step.
