Armani launches an Android Wear smartwatch

Android Wear logoLast year luxury fashion brand Emporio Armani got into the smartwatch game by launching the Emporio Armani Connected. This device was more of a hybrid where it featured a traditional timepiece with some smart features, but it did represent how the company was looking to dip its toes into the water.

However it looks like the company has decided to dive straight in as they have since launched a new Android Wear smartwatch. The device in question has not yet been named, but it is powered by Android Wear and was recently revealed at the Milan Fashion Week. It is powered by a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and will pretty much do what you might come to expect from such a device, and we’re guessing that the main appeal here would be the branding and design.

Armani launches an Android Wear smartwatch

No word on how much Armani’s new Android Wear smartwatch will cost, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for more details regarding that and any other features that might set it apart from the competition. The launch of this smartwatch is part of the Fossil Group’s goal of launching as many as 300 smartwatches in 2017 alone.

Whether this will end up saturating the market remains to be seen, but for those who are more fashion-conscious, this new wearable from Armani will be one of the many options that you can expect to find this year.
