It hasn’t been long since AMD officially launched its Ryzen series of processors. The company has now announced more Ryzen processors that are going to be released later this year. The new models include Ryzen processors that are meant for notebooks. New additions to the series also include the “Threadripper” for high-end desktop PCs and a Ryzen 3 series for affordable PCs.
AMD released its first Ryzen processors earlier this year. The effectively compete against the likes of the Core i5 and Core i7 models from Intel on both performance and price. AMD did well with the Ryzen series and they have been well received.
The company today announced it’s new notebook-focused processors codenamed Raven Ridge. They integrate a 4-core 8-thread Zen-based CPU with high-performance Vega graphics to promise an expected 50 percent increase in CPU performance and 40 percent increase in graphics performance at half the price of the previous generation.
These processors will be launched in the second half of this year, which means that Raven Ridge-powered notebooks, 2-in-1s, and ultraportables will be available later this year.
AMD has announced the Ryzen “Threadripper” processor with up to 16-cores and 32-threads with expanded memory and I/O bandwidth. It’s designed for high-performance machines. The Threadripper is scheduled for release in the summer of this year. The affordable Ryzen 3 lineup will be available in the third quarter of 2017.
