Fitbit had run into a bit of trouble while developing its smartwatch. We reported last month that the smartwatch should have been released this spring before Apple's next watch would be announced this fall.
According to the latest reports coming from sources familiar with Fitbit plans, the smartwatch won't make its debut on the market until later this fall. On the bright side, we now have more information on the smartwatch's specs and design.
A set of pictures allegedly showing the upcoming Fitbit smartwatch have just been leaked online. The images came along with interesting details about what's under the hood and what to expect regarding performance from Fitbit's smartwatch.
First off, the smartwatch is codenamed Higgs and is said to pack a built-in GPS, heart rate monitor, support for music services like Pandora, as well as the ability to make mobile payments. More importantly, Fitbit's smartwatch is supposed to offer four days of battery life on one charge.
The smartwatch will feature an aluminum unibody and will allow users to change its bands. Price-wise, the Higgs will cost around $300 when it launches this fall.
In the same piece of news, Fitbit plans to launch a pair of Bluetooth earphones, which care codenamed Parkside. You'll be able to wear them around your neck and very much look like Apple's BeatsX.
Fitbit's Bluetooth earphones will be available in two color options, Nightfall Blue and Lunar Gray, and will sell for $150. They should be launched at the same time as the smartwatch.
