128GB Galaxy S8 may cost almost $1,000

Samsung logoSamsung has previously launched new Galaxy S flagships at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but the company is not going to use this stage for the Galaxy S8 this year. It’s going to conduct a special event for the new flagship possibly next month in New York. Rumor has it that the company is going to launch a variant of the Galaxy S8 just for select markets in Asia and that this variant is going to cost almost $1,000.

Rumor has it that Samsung is going to a launch a special variant of the Galaxy S8 that’s going to be made available in select Asian markets, particularly China and South Korea.

The company will apparently offer 6GB of RAM with the handset and up to 128GB of storage. The 6GB and 64GB configuration is rumored to cost around $885 while the top-of-the-line 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration is said to cost $940.

It’s unclear at this point in time if Samsung is ever going to release this variant in any other region outside Asia. The cost will certainly be a major factor with this variant and it’s not likely that a lot of customers would go for it. Samsung may only release it where it feels there’s a good chance of the variant performing well.

None of this has been officially confirmed as yet so it’s not exactly set in stone at this point in time.
