PS4 Slim could also be in the works

Sony logoSlightly ahead of E3, Sony basically confirmed that they are working on the PS4 Neo, although when exactly the console will be revealed or released remains to be seen. However it seems that might not be all Sony could be launching because according to analyst Damian Thong who spoke to The Wall Street Journal, a PS4 Slim could also be in the works.

It is unclear if Thong is simply speculating or if he had heard from a source as the report does not clearly state which is the case, although we suppose in either situation it would not necessarily be a stretch to think that might be what Sony is doing. After all we’ve seen Sony launch slimmer PS3 consoles in the past, so why not the PS4 too, right?

PS4 Slim could also be in the works

Let’s not forget that Microsoft has announced the Xbox One S which is essentially a slimmer version of the Xbox One, so it seems unlikely that Sony would want Microsoft to hog the market with a refreshed and slimmer console which might be ideal for new customers or existing gamers who might not see the need to upgrade to the PS4 Neo.

There is no word on when the PS4 Slim or Neo will be announced, but it has been suggested that maybe Sony could share the news at the Tokyo Game Show which will be taking place from the 15th-18th of September, 2016, so do check back with us then for the details.
