Acer’s first high-end Windows 10 Smartphone arrives in December

Acer logoA couple of weeks back Acer announced its first Windows 10 powered smartphones, it revealed what the Liquid M330 costs and when it will be released, but since it’s only a low-end smartphone many were more interested in the Liquid Jade Primo, Acer’s high-end Windows 10 Mobile handset. The company has now revealed that the Liquid Jade Primo will be released in December 2015.

Acer has launched the Liquid Jade Primo in the Philippines and the handset will go on sale there unlocked for around $410. That’s not bad for a smartphone that’s powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM, 32GB of onboard storage with a 5.5 inch 1,080×1,920 pixel resolution display.

The handset also features an 8 megapixel front facing camera as well as a 21 megapixel camera on the back with LED flash. Acer unveiled this handset last month and it was the first to have support for Microsoft Continuum, the feature allows users to more or less use their smartphones as Windows 10 PCs when hooked up to a display.

However since the Liquid Jade Primo won’t be released until December it won’t be the first handset on the market to support Continuum, that crown will go to the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL, both new Lumias from Microsoft are out next month with Continuum onboard.

As yet Acer hasn’t confirmed when this high-end Windows 10 smartphone will be released in North America and Europe, but seeing as how the company will start releasing the handset from this December, perhaps it might arrive in these markets early next year.
