Xiaomi, China's leading smartphone maker, announced on Tuesday two prepaid wireless plans along with its new flagship handset called the Mi 4c, a 1299 yuan ($204 Android smartphone featuring a Qualcomm processor, 5-inch display and 13-megapixel camera.
MVNOs, which purchase network capacity from large carriers and resell mobile plans under their own branding, have failed to gain traction in China.But Xiaomi's foray into the sector could finally kickstart the MVNO industry. Xiaomi's new wireless business, called Mi Mobile, will offer voice and data services and utilize either the China Unicom or China Telecom networks.
Regarding Xiaomi's new flagship smartphone, the Mi 4c, will come in 5 colors (white, black, blue, pink and yellow,) a USB Type-C port, a Snapdragon 808 SoC (1.8 GHz 6-core 64-bit- GPU: Adreno 418 graphics processor), a 13 MP rear camera (Sony IMX238/Samsung SSK3M2 ISOCELL sensor), PDAF plus a Front 5MP wide-angle camera. The device has a 5-inch 1080p display, it is powered by a 3080 mAh (typ) battery, and offers 4G Dual SIM connectivity.
The compact smartphone (138.1 x 69.6 x 7.8 mm) weighs 132g.
