Check out this video of the Asus VivoWatch in action

ASUS logoEarlier this morning, we showed you some pictures of the Asus VivoWatch. As you can tell by the name, this is a new smartwatch offered by the manufacturer. It is a completely different wearable device than the Android Wear powered Asus ZenWatch that was released in September 2014. To extend battery life, Asus is replacing Android Wear with another OS and will use a new simplified MediaTek chip. The end-result is that the new watch will provide users with up to ten days of battery life.

The Asus VivoWatch was just on display at Milan Design Week where a video was shot showing the device in action. As we pointed out this morning, the VivoWatch is a very fitness-centric device giving you the ability to set targets and then track your efforts to meet them. With an iP67 certification, it can be submerged to as deep as 3.2 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes and escape unscathed.

The video of the timepiece shows that it has sensors on the back that monitor things like a user's heart rate and we can also see from the small demonstration that the watch will also give a pulse reading as well. The VivoWatch will be available soon from the online Asus Store, priced at the equivalent of $158 USD.
