Packard Bell intros 13.4-inch EasyNote Butterfly S

Packard Bell logoPackard Bell is unveiling the 13.4-inch Butterfly EasyNote S notebook for European markets. Its LCD widescreen is LED backlit, which helps to attain the rated battery life of 8 hours, also thanks in part to an Intel Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) processor and Energy Star 5.0 certification. The one-inch thick netbook will also have a switchable graphics mode feature that switches from the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 graphics chipset to integrated graphics to save power in those models that have the two visual cores.

The netbook will have built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with a 3G data network modem optional. It will support DDR3 RAM, have a Dolby sound system and an HDMI output.

Packard Bell Butterfly S

Packard Bell will offer an optional solid state drive for the Butterfly EasyNote S, which will not only lower the weight of the notebook but also increase its battery life by 10 percent. The silver and black case is offset by a satin aluminum palm rest, which houses a multi-touch touchpad. Shortcut keys are lit up by red LEDs.

Pricing or release information is not yet known, though the notebook will be limited to the European market.
